Self Defense Firearm Basics
This introductory course is designed to help students learn the fundamentals of safely handling firearms. Students will learn the universal safety rules, clearing of handgun malfunctions, understanding the safe operation of a handgun, and basic firearm fundamentals including stance, grip, and range commands. Students can test what they know on the smokeless dry-fire range to challenge their shooting speed and accuracy.
This class is a required class for anyone who intends to purchase, rent or own a handgun in Maryland. Our firearms instructor is certified through the United States Concealed Carry Association (USCCA) and has his approved Certified Qualified Handgun Instructor (QHIC) from Maryland State Police (MSP). This course is a minimum of four hours of instruction and will cover the details of Maryland state firearm laws, home firearm safety, an overview of handgun and firearm safety in the home, and a demonstration of the student’s safe operation and handling of the firearm.
Maryland Handgun Qualification License (HQL) Safety Training Class
Maryland Wear & Carry Permit Training Class
This class is a required class for anyone who intends to wear and carry a handgun in Maryland. Our firearms instructor is certified through the United States Concealed Carry Association (USCCA) and has his approved Certified Qualified Handgun Instructor (QHIC) from Maryland State Police (MSP). This course is a minimum of twelve hours of classroom instruction and four hours of range time. This course covers Maryland state firearm law, home firearm safety, handgun mechanisms and operation, and a component that requires the applicant to demonstrate gun safety and proficiency, with a minimum score of 70% accuracy.
